Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi has charged the newly appointed Members of Boards and Agencies to provide strategic vision and leadership that will see to the realization of the philosophy behind the creation of their respective agencies and institutions.
He gave the charge Friday in his office Ochoudo Centenary City while inaugurating Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha as chairman of Ebonyi State College of Health Sciences Ezzangbo; Chief Chukwuma Charles Ofoke as Chaiman, Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency; and Hon. Alphonsus Nwali as Chairman, Ebonyi State Library Board.
Also sworn in during the event was Baron Enya Ogbonnia, Coordinator, Amasiri Development Centre and Obinna Oko Eyum, as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Internal Security in charge of Afikpo; Mrs Patience Gabby Idam , member Women Development Centre as well as Nwokedi Amadi, Member, pilgrims Welfare Board.
He said the reconstitution of the Boards and Agencies was aimed at realising the vision of establishing them
Speaking on EBCSDA, the Governor noted that “Community Development Agency is an agency that deals with the people in line with the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda of our government”, a reason for the careful selection of its governing board.
While in the Library Board, the Governor maintained “We discover our people are misdirecting their intelligence, so we are equipping the library to arrest the situation where our people resort to social media to castigate our leaders”.
According to the Governor, With the library, the moral drift will be arrested as the knowledge facility will keep the youth intellectually active and busy with research and learning.
“In the College of Health Sciences, the Governor charged the members to work closely with the management to address the security problem facing the institution.
He also tasked Baron Anya Ogbonna as the Coordinator Amasiri Development Centre and Obinna Oko Eyum, the Special Assistant on Internal Security ” to champion peace and social development in Amasiri which is central to this government”
