The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Afikpo Local Government Area on Wednesday, 12th August 2026 officially kicked- off its ward-to-ward campaign rally with visits to Amata, Amogu, and Ibii/Ozizza wards.
The Campaign rally, led by the Chairman of Afikpo LGA Campaign Council, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja, Ph.D, was aimed at mobilizing grassroots support ahead of the forthcoming local government elections slated for 22nd August 2026
The day began with a rousing reception in Amata Ward, where stakeholders, party faithful, and community leaders trooped out en masse to welcome the campaign train. This was followed by similar momentum in Amogu Ward and later in Ibii/Ozizza Ward, where the atmosphere was charged with songs, solidarity, and renewed commitment to the APC.
Addressing the people, NWACHI, Timothy A. U. thanked the wards for their warm reception and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, Peace & Security, infrastructural development, and grassroots empowerment. He explained that the ward-to-ward engagement was to present the APC’s candidates for the forth coming Local Government Election to the people
In his keynote address, the Chairman of the Afikpo LGA Campaign Council, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja, PhD, described the turnout as a clear endorsement of the APC’s vision for Afikpo. He urged party members to remain united and to work for the victory of all APC candidates from the chairmanship to the councilorship levels.
Also speaking, the LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Nicodemus Oko Egwu who expressed satisfaction with the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the Campaign Rally, noted that the massive turnout across the three wards signals strong support for the APC in Afikpo LGA. and called for massive votes for the Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates of the Party in the forth coming Local Government Election

Christopher Omo Isu(Amogu Ward); Amoha DC Coordinator, Hon. Ken Orji Obasi(Amogu); Former G/M, Engr. Austin Ogbuagu (Amogu); former Amoha DC Coordinator, Surveyor Theodore Chikwendu Ihite(Amoha)!SA to the Governor on Community Development, Hon. Pius Ntamo(Ibii/Ozizza Ward); former Coordinator of Afikpo North East DC, Hon. Innocent Inya Eluu; Former Supervisor for Youths & Sports, Hon. Adiko Arua Enyum; former LGA Party Chairman Chief Anthony Ogbonnia Obiahu (Ibii/Ozizza) alongside Councilors and Ward Chairmen all applauded the achievements of the APC in Ebonyi State under Governor Francis Nwifuru and urged their people to come out en masse and vote massively for all APC candidates in the forthcoming LGA Elections
Highlight of the Ward Rally was the formal presentation of APC Flag to the councilorship candidates of Amata, Amogu and Ibii/,Ozizza Wards who pledged to represent their wards effectively if elected
The ward-to-ward rally is expected to continue on Thursday, 13th August 2026 with a visit to Ezeke, Poperi and Ugwuegu Wards, Friday Ohaisu and Nkpoghoro wards and it will be rounded off on Saturday August 15 with Itim and Unwana wards.
