Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has appointed a journalist, Ken Ofoma as his Senior Special Assistant on Policy and Communication.
Until his appointment, Ofoma was the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Awgu Local Government Area of the state.
An experienced and versatile journalist, Mr Ofoma in his hey days in journalism before venturing into politics had served as the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ebonyi State when Mrs Veronica Osim was Chairman. He was also Chairman Correspondents chapel in Ebonyi State, Zonal Secretary(C) and later Vice President, Zone C(East) of the NUJ. He played a key role in the election of Comrade Chris Isiguzo as President of NUJ and worked closely with him during his tenure as well as midwifing the emergence of the incumbent President, Alhaji Yahaya Alhassan.
As SSA on Policy and Communication, he is expected to play a role in strengthening the relationship between government policies and the public while helping to articulate the Peter Mbah government development agenda and achievements.
There is no doubt that he’ll bring to bear his vast knowledge and experience in journalism to bear on his services to Enugu State government and further project the programmes and activities of the administration to the people of Enugu State.
