The Chairman of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on Project Monitoring and Evaluation Hon Oluchukwu Ukie Ezeali has declared Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as the most project-driven leader in the history of the State, expressing satisfaction over the quality, quantity and spread of projects executed by his administration.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Oluchukwu Ukie Ezeali who represents Afikpo North-East State Constituency, made the declaration in Abakaliki when he led members of the Committee on a familiarization visit to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
The lawmaker stated that the visit was part of the Committee’s oversight mandate to assess project implementation and identify areas where the legislature can provide support to the executive arm.
According to him, the Committee is impressed that every kobo appropriated for projects by Governor Nwifuru has been judiciously utilized, with projects executed to standard and evenly distributed across the three senatorial zones of the State.
Hon Oluchukwu Ukie Ezeali futher stated that What the committee saw
and briefed on confirms that Governor Nwifuru is a leader who matches words with action adding that his projects are not only numerous but of high quality and spread across all parts of Ebonyi.
He directed the Ministry to forward to the Committee a comprehensive list of all awarded projects both completed and ongoing for effective oversight and legislative intervention.
The Committee Chairman also commended the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Sunday Elechi Inyima describing him as a competent and seasoned administrator whose wealth of experience is already repositioning the Ministry.
In their separate contributions members of the Committee Hon. Abiri Godwin Abiri Izzi West, Hon. Sunday Henry Eze Ishielu North Hon. Nwodo Aloysius Nwodo representing Ebonyi North-West and Hon. Victor Nwoke representing Abakaliki North emphasized that the present administration has placed unprecedented priority on project execution as the cornerstone of the People’s Charter of Needs agenda.
Responding, the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Sunday Elechi Inyima, disclosed that within few months of assuming office, he has reinvigorated the Ministry to serve as the brain box of government.

Hon. Inyima noted that a strategic framework for effective project monitoring has been established, stressing that the era of abandoned projects in Ebonyi is gone.
He further revealed that plans have been concluded for the introduction of digital project monitoring for real-time tracking of all government projects across the State.
The Commissioner assured the Committee of robust collaboration and thanked them for their aggressive pursuit of the realization of Governor Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs through quality legislation and comprehensive oversight.
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mrs Mbazu Shullamite expressed appreciation for the timely visit of the Committee, describing it as a morale booster for the Ministry.
