Death Belongs to No One; and Belongs to Everyone – Tribute to President Muhammadu Buhari As the news of President Muhammadu Buhari’s passing reaches us, we are confronted — with sobering clarity — by the humbling truth of our shared human destiny: that no matter how powerful, how controversial, or how beloved, all must pass through the quiet gates of mortality. Power, prominence, and principle all fade before it. We all bow to the finality that unites all mortals. In death, we are all simply human. Today, MB returns to the silence from which we all came and shall all go back to. Death spares neither kings nor commoners; it levels all, and invites the living to reflect on the brevity of life and the weight of legacy. To each person, Muhammadu Buhari represented something different — conviction, discipline, duty, or dissent.He stirred hope, sparked debate, and shaped the nation’s path — for better or for worse, as history may decide. But this moment is not for judgment. It is for personal recollections. So today, we set aside commentary and take a moment to acknowledge the fact that death is the way of all mortals. Memento mori — death is the one truth that binds us all. And as one once said, I take no pleasure in the death of any man.A chapter has closed. Whatever history may eventually record, one thing remains true: Buhari has finished his part in this journey and now belongs to eternity.May his soul find rest. May his family find comfort.
