The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the upcoming Saturday 8th November, 2025 Anambra State Elections, Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu,, and his Deputy, Sen. Uche Ekwunife have received royal blessings from the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Dr. Nneamaka Ugochukwu Alfred Achebe, (Agbogidi).
The event held on Friday 31st October, 2025, at Igwe Achebe’s Palace in Onitsha, shows a mark of respect for the traditional institution on the part of the Senate President, Sen. Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCFR, who also doubles as the Chairman of Nigerian National Assembly
In his remarks, the President of the Senate, Sen. Akpabio, started by introducing himself as an In-law to Anambra State, then said he’s the representative of the Presidency and later refers to Igwe Achebe, as not just a revered first class traditional ruler in Anambra and South-East, but the entire Nigeria, he stated that Igwe Achebe, is one of the best and top three traditional rulers Nigeria has ever produced,
Senator Akpabio told Igwe Achebe, that himself and his entourage were in Anambra and Onitsha in particular to officially Inaugurate and flagg-off the National Campaign Council of APC/UKACHUKWU/EKWUNIFE, 2025 Anambra State Gubernatorial Elections
Consequently, the Governor of Imo State, Dr. Hope Uzodimma, (Onwa), who was in the Senate President’s entourage to the Igwe Achebe”s palace, thanked the revered king for receiving them, stating that he is here representing the 24 (Twenty-Four) APC Governors in Nigeria
The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof Nentawe Yiltidwa, told Igwe Achebe, that he was in Anambra representing the National Working Committe NWC of the APC. He solicited and pleaded with Igwe Achebe, to bless the APC Governorship and Deputy Governorship Candidate respectively.
Highest-point of the visit was administering of royal blessings and fervent prayers on the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governorship Candidate and his Deputy by Igwe Nneamaka Ugochukwu Alfred Achebe, who also wished them and the party well on their gubernatorial project through-out the electioneering campaigns.
