Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has inaugurated a campaign council to coordinate and manage the 2027 campaign trail to ensure landslide victory of the All Progressives Congress APC.
At the Remeritona Hotel, the venue of the inauguration on Saturday, Governor Nwifuru stated that with the massive human capital development and infrastructure blended governance put in place by the ruling party, the electorate will vote massively for the party during the elections.
The administration, the Governor, explained, has fulfilled 98 percent of the campaign promises made 3 years ago, and has taken a quantum leap across sectors of the economy in line with social contract.
“In 2023, we came up with the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.
Under the framework “In education, we agreed to upgrade the College of Education to University of Education and upgrade our infrastructure, these we have done.
“And we have also constructed and completed some gigantic faculty buildings. We have also procured laptops for the students to be computer literate for the 43 Primary Schools we built”.
Similar, “in the area of agriculture, we have a well structured farm at Hatchery which has been reactivated as we have procured machines, tractors and other farm implements for mechanised farming, enhanced ease of doing business, cleared backlog of pensions, gratitiuities and ensured regular promotions for qualified staff”.
Speaking further, the Governor also highlighted significant mileages covered in the areas of security by restoring normalcy in most wartorn communities, moved to address poor energy supplies in Afikpo and other LGAs, established ICT University, ensured clean environment, improved investments in Youths and Sports, culture and tourism, moved to address housing deficits and reactivated the Ebonyi International Airport”.
Grouped under various directorates of finance, security, advisory , media, works, infrastructure, youth and women mobilisation, the council was tasked to ensure all votes are cast in favor of the APC.
Earlier in his remark, the State Chairman of the party, Stanley Okoro Emegha, urged members of the Council to carryout the assignment with zeal and dedication
Emegha stated that no Ebonyian is morally obligated to contest the guber race with the incumbent in line with equity and fairness.
Former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Greece, Ambassador Frank Nchita Ogbuewu heads the council with Deputy Directors spread across the state’s 3 Senatorial Districts.
