Members of the National Executive Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ have unanimously elected Sir Emmanuel Idam Irem Secretary NUJ Southeast Zone. This was during the August 13, 2025 NEC Conference held in Kano State.
While speaking to newsmen, Sir Irem obviously overjoyed on his emergence as the Southeast Secretary of NUJ thanked the National President of the Union, Alhassan Yahaya and in a very special way the immediate past National President of NUJ, Chief Christopher Isiguzo; the Ebonyi State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Sampson Nwafor, and the Director General of EBBC, Chief Anthony Nwizi through whose efforts God made it possible.
Irem is the Chief Consultant and Editor-in-Chief Trumpet Magazine. He was formerly a Senior Correspondent in the defunct Afikpo Today Magazine. In the course of his media activities Sir Irem has equally been engaged in professional maintenance of favourable public image of organizations and companies.
