Another formidable support group, Ebonyi FON Network Initiative has adopted Governor Francis Nwifuru as its preferred and sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State.
The colourful endorsement ceremony, which took place on Friday at Afikpo Local Government Headquarters, drew a large crowd of members of the support group, party faithful, and other critical stakeholders from across the 13 local government areas of the state.
In his opening remarks, the National President of the Group, Apostle Albert Chukwuma Igbo extolled the leadership qualities of Governor Nwifuru, describing him as a humble, visionary, and people-oriented leader whose style of governance has restored hope and confidence in Ebonyi State.
He disclosed that the group had keenly followed the antecedents of the governor’s administration since its inception, noting that his track record in governance, human empowerment, and inclusive leadership necessitated the decision to endorse him for a second term.
Moderating the endorsement session, the Deputy National President, Deacon Orji Eke Udu said Governor Nwifuru has transformed Ebonyi State through his remarkable performance in office, particularly in infrastructure, Agriculture, education, health, and civil service welfare among others
Deacon Orji Udu maintained that a second term for Governor Nwifuru would guarantee continuity and sustainability of the massive infrastructural development currently springing up across the state, stressing that Ebonyi cannot afford to return to the era of abandoned projects and policy inconsistency.
The motion for the endorsement of the governor was moved by the Coordinator of Afikpo LGA, Ebonyi FON Network Initiative, Hon. Oko Okoche (Kossy) who described the governor as a worthy ambassador of the people and a leader whose re-election is in the best interest of the state.
The motion was seconded by the Coordinator of Edda LGA, Hon(Mrs) Nkamaka Enyidia, who affirmed that women and youths across the state were solidly behind the governor. The Deputy National President thereafter put the motion to a voice vote, and it was unanimously carried amid cheers and applause from the crowd.
In his remarks after receiving the certificate of endorsement from the group, the Executive Chairman of Afikpo LGA, NWACHI, Timothy A. U., thanked the FON Network Initiative for joining millions of other Ebonyians in throwing their weight behind the re-election of Governor Nwifuru.
The Council Chairman, who was represented by his Vice, Hon. Chinyere Egwu, hailed Governor Nwifuru for prioritising the welfare of Ebonyi people through prompt & up to date payment of salaries, pension reforms, aggressive infrastructural development, Education & Agriculture revolution and people-centred policies. He called on Ebonyians to deliver bulk votes for the governor and other APC candidates in 2027, to consolidate the gains of the present administration.
The APC Chairman of Afikpo LGA, Hon. Nicodemus Oko Egwu, commended the group for voluntarily turning out in their great numbers to show appreciation and solidarity for the performing Governor of Ebonyi State.
He praised their laudable action and promised to convey their show of support for Gov Nwifuru and the APC to the State Chairman of the Party
