The Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, NWACHI, Timothy A. U has on Monday,12th January 2026 presented the 2026 Budget Estimate to the members of Afikpo Legislative Council for approval
This monumental Budget is a shining reflection of the administration’s unrelenting commitment to the development and progress of Afikpo Local Government Area
The Council Chairman in his speech, disclosed that the budget proposal was crafted to reflect the needs of each community, with a view to pursuing aggressive grassroots development through the provision of key social amenities.
He highlighted that the budget plan proposes a substantial allocation of N8.312 Billion for capital expenditure and N2.14 Billion for recurrent expenditure, underscoring the administration’s focus on transforming the lives of the people.
The capital expenditure, according to the Council Chairman, covers core areas of development, including Administration, Economic, and Social Services with a view to bringing massive transformation in the areas of Agriculture, Health, Education, and other critical sectors.
He expressed his profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his remarkable leadership initiatives through the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda, which has been a driving force behind the administration’s development agenda.
In his response, the Leader of Afikpo Legislative Council, Hon. Joel Inya Egwu, commended the Council Chairman for his courageous steps towards achieving sustainable development in Afikpo Local Government Area. He assured that the Budget estimate would be given accelerated hearing and approval
He noted with great satisfaction that the implementation of the 2025 Budget yielded a harvest of positive results, manifesting in a plethora of transformative projects that have significantly uplifted the quality of life in Afikpo Local Government Area and expressed confidence that the 2026 Budget would build upon these successes to usher in an even brighter future for Afikpo LGA
