The All Progressive Congress APC in South East zone has passed vote of confidence on president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him for a second term in 2027 Presidential election.
Speaking at the expanded South East stakeholders meeting held in Enugu the Governor of Ebonyi State Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru maintained that a vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu symbolises, hope, freedom and liberation of the region from shackles of neglects and infrastructural decay
“Let me commend our leaders for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term”, he noted.
According to Governor Nwifuru “Without the love and commitment of President Tinubu, I doubt if we would have been here to discuss the APC”.
He expressed deep gratitude for the President for prioritizing the welfare of Ndigbo in particular and Nigeria in general.
“I also thank Mr. President for the infrastructural development in the Southeast.
“This is the first time we are having over 250 kilometers of roads going on simultaneously in Ebonyi State.
“This is the first time we are having massive infrastructures being constructed by the Federal Government”.
“Before now, we rarely boast of any federal projects” the Governor said.
Also speaking, the Governor of Enugu State Dr. Peter Mbah averred that ” politics is nurtured by partnership”, a reason the state ported to APC.
“The Southeast will no longer stand as a divided political unit”.
For this, he further explained, is the philosophy behind the call for continuity in governance.
“In the Southeast, there have been a recognition that no zone develops in isolation” which is why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is laying a foundation for the groundwork for the industrial revolution in the Southeast”.
In his remarks, the chairman of APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Sen Hope Uzodinma, urged the stakeholders of the region to close ranks and support the reelection of the President in 2027.
Other speakers including the Deputy Chief whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Benjamin Kalu appealed to the people of the zone to be strategic this time and vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
