In a groundbreaking development that promises to revolutionize the security and socio-economic landscape of Afikpo Local Government Area, the Nigerian Army has announced plans to establish an Army Recruitment & Training Institute along the strategic Amasiri/Edda axis of Ebonyi State.
Led by Major General M.A. Abdulahi, a high-powered delegation from the Nigerian Army paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, NWACHI, Timothy A. U, in his office on Wednesday.
During the visit, Major General Abdulahi expressed profound gratitude to the Council Chairman for the warm reception accorded to his team, assuring that the Military High Command is poised to kick-start the Institute’s activities as soon as possible.
The General emphasized that this flagship project will not only bolster security but also catalyze socio-economic and infrastructural development in the area, transforming the lives of residents and fostering a more prosperous future.
In response, the visibly elated Executive Chairman of Afikpo LGA, NWACHI, Timothy A. U, expressed his profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for their visionary leadership and people-centered initiatives.
He noted that the establishment of the Army Recruitment & Training Institute marks a new chapter in the history of Afikpo Local Government Area, highlighting the enormous benefits, including enhanced security, creation of opportunities for socio-economic development, and a brighter future in the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the Local Communities.
He expressed his profound delight that this landmark project is taking off during his tenure, assuring the Army of the Local Government’s support and commitment to ensuring the successful take-off of this noble project.
The Executive Chairman was joined by key officials, including the Secretary to the LGA, Hon. Dame Priscilla Alu Idam; the Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Apostle Uduma Peter Agha; Councilors; Supervisors; and a stakeholder Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Madukibe Ewa.
