Nigerian Army Training Depot Opens in Afikpo with Colourful Passing out Parade of First Intakes as LG Chairman thanks FG over citing of facility

The Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, NWACHI, Timothy A. U., on Wednesday joined His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, to attend the maiden Regular Recruit Passing-Out-Parade at the Nigerian Army Training Depot, Amasiri/Edda.The historic event had in attendance the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuibu, alongside other top brass of the Nigerian Army and distinguished dignitaries.The ceremony indeed marked a landmark moment in the history of the Depot and its host Communities and further reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Government to strengthening national security and youth empowerment through military training.While fielding questions from newsmen, the Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, NWACHI, Timothy A. U expressed his profound gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for the establishment of the Nigerian Army Training Depot at that strategic place for accelerated development of Afikpo and Local Government Areas He stated that the siting of the Depot would yield enormous benefits including job creation for our youths, increased economic and commercial activities, enhanced security architecture, infrastructural development, and the positioning of Afikpo as a strategic hub for national defense. He added that the presence of the Depot would further promote peace, unity, and sustainable development for the people of Afikpo and Ebonyi State at large
