All is now set for the 2025 Pres Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ebonyi State Council.
According to a Press Statement issued by the Press Week Central Planning Committee, the activities will start Friday October 17, 2025 with visit to orphanage and less privileged homes. Signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Comrade Samuel Okpor and Secretary, Comrade Uchenna Inya, the NUJ announced that on Monday October 20, 2025 there will be a road walk in the morning and a novelty football match between the Union and the Nigerian Medical Association, Ebonyi State chapter at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium.
The programme, the Statement stated would continue the next day Tuesday October 21st with a Press Briefing by the Ebonyi NUJ Chairman, Comrade Samson Nwafor to be followed by a free medical in-reach for members of the Union.
The statement also disclosed that the grand finale of the event would hold Thursday October 23rd with conferment of awards on Governor Francis Nwifuru and other distinguished Nigerians. The grand finale will also feature paper presentations. The event would be rounded off with a Thanksgiving church service Sunday October 26.
The Special Guest of Honour at the event is the Governor of Ebonyi State while the Commissioner for Works, Engr Mbam Stanley Lebechi will chair the week.
