The Ebonyi State Government has presented the PHC Leadership Challenge Award to the best-performing Local Government Areas in the 2024/2025 Local Government Area Primary Healthcare Challenge.
The award ceremony was held at the Ebonyi State Deputy Governor’s office, Old Government House, Abakaliki. Presenting the awards, the State Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Taskforce on Immunization and Primary Healthcare, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, GCEHF, congratulated Ezza South, Afikpo, and Onicha Local Government Areas for their outstanding performance.
Princess Obila expressed appreciation to the State Ministry of Health and Chairmen of Local Government Councils for their support towards the success of immunization campaign programs. She advised parents to join the fight against killer diseases in the state and reiterated the commitment of the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to providing quality healthcare services to Ebonyians.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma earlier announced the award winners: Ezza South (1st position), Afikpo Local Government Area (2nd position), and Onicha Local Government Area (3rd position).
The ceremony was attended by top government officials, including the Deputy Chief of Staff, Engr Donatus Uche; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Lawrence Ezeogo, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, Barr Ikechukwu Alobu and Chairmen of Local Government Councils, among others
